WHO WE ARE
Emily Pearlman is a theatre creator and educator with 15 years experience developing new work as a writer/performer and director/dramaturg.
She has worked with playwrights, poets, DIY theatre collectives, dancers, film-makers and sound artists. She has produced art festivals, created radio documentaries for CBC, been an age and weight guesser at an old time carnival, taken the Greyhound from Ottawa to Mexico City, and worked on an organic farm in Spain. She considers all these experiences equally useful when working with Mi Casa and teaching play creation to people of all ages.
She is an Artistic Associate with The Ottawa International Children's Festival and Theatre 4.669, professor at University of Ottawa, and a board member for Youth Infringement. She has received five Prix Rideau Awards for her work and been nominated for thirteen as a writer, performer and director.
